So I’ve got weekend on my mind.
We’ve had a lot of exciting events going on in our household this week. With four boys, end of school year around here is crazy busy. Academic award ceremonies, sports award ceremonies, graduations, music recitals. Year end parties. And more.
I wanted to make a special meal my boys would really appreciate to celebrate all their hard work. Something that spoke loud and clear. Said congratulations on a job well done.
In other words, MEAT!
And nothing speaks louder in our house than the word BURGER. We often have pasta, soup or chicken as a main dish, but I know my boys really love a great burger.
We’ve been grilling these delicious Juicy Grilled Turkey & Beef Burgers at cookouts for years around here. Thought you might like this great, flavorful burger recipe for your cookouts this summer.
You’ll need just four simple ingredients: ground turkey, 85% lean ground beef, Lipton Onion Soup Mix and A.1. Steak Sauce. A good hamburger press is essential.
I bought this one from Williams Sonoma on clearance a few years back. (And not a twinge of buyer’s remorse, it has served us well.)
This recipe calls for a mix of half ground turkey and half ground beef. The turkey keeps the burger juicy, cuts down on shrinkage and fat content. Makes a healthier burger. The 85% lean ground beef preserves that meaty big-beef flavor we love.
Form patties, then freeze before grilling. This keeps the burgers juicy and helps them stay together during grilling.
