<p>Hoping you&#8217;ll go on a little weekend field trip with me today: a jaunt north up to <em><strong>Sugarbush Farm</strong></em> in Woodstock, Vermont. This, is a neat place. It&#8217;s family owned, and you feel it the minute you step inside the main house. First, we&#8217;d taken the boys to see glassblowing at Simon Pearce Glass in Quechee, VT. (Check out my <a title="Simon Pearce Glass, Quechee VT" href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/simon-pearce-glass-quechee-vt/">Simon Pearce Glass, Quechee VT</a>  post here.) We were all fascinated with the glassblowers and the whole process.</p>
<p>We went on to Woodstock for lunch. There were several choices in our budget, and we passed a lovely looking restaurant called <em>Bentleys</em>.</p>
<p>Charlie (8): &#8220;Mom, I <em>really</em> think we should eat at <em>Bentleys</em>.&#8221; (Pretty insistent.)</p>
<p>Me: &#8220;Why <em>Bentleys</em>?&#8221;</p>
<p>Charlie: &#8220;It just sounds like it would be a really nice place I&#8217;d like.&#8221;</p>
<p>A child who takes after his own mother. Wine taste on a beer budget. (We found <em>Pizza Chef</em>, excellent pizza on the outskirts of town that worked out nicely for the gang.)</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm11.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2711" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm11.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. Cheese and maple syrup tasting at a charming VT farm." width="680" height="497" srcset="https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm11.jpg 680w, https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm11-300x219.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p>Meandering home from Woodstock after lunch, we saw <em>Taftsville Bridge</em> on the left. I was reminded of the fun cheese and maple syrup tasting adventure shared with my southern friend Susan last winter at <em><strong>Sugarbush</strong> <strong>Farm</strong></em>. So we cut a quick left, crossed the covered bridge and made our way the few miles to <em><strong>Sugarbush Farm</strong></em>. Thought you&#8217;d enjoy tagging along to enjoy the sights vicariously.</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm4.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-2705" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm4.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: left;">We headed to the main farm house for cheese and syrup sampling. Snowshoes hanging on an outbuilding, ready for a trek&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farms3.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2718" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farms3.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: center;"> This cracked me up! Labeled a Vermont Cowch&#8230;it doesn&#8217;t look a bit comfortable.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm14.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2714" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm14.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: left;">Stepping inside the farmhouse, we were treated to samples of all the wonderful cheese and maple syrup grades that <strong><em>Sugarbush Farm</em></strong> produces.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm18.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2729" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm18.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: left;">Check out these excellent choices: Vermont Light Cheddar, Mountain Jack, Mellow Cheddar, Aged and Select Sharp Cheddar, Premium Select Extra Sharp, many different aged cheddars, Sage, Smoked, Cheddar with Bacon, Mountain Blue, Cheddar with Horseradish and Jalapeño &amp; Cayenne Pepper. It was hard to choose!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm16.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2716" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm16.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: left;">Just behind the sampling area, friendly VT folks meticulously dip <em><strong>Sugarbush Farm</strong></em> cheese in wax. (First it&#8217;s foil wrapped, then triple dipped.)</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm19.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2731" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm19.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: center;">When cool, these nice ladies label and wrap it in plastic.</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm15.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2715" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm15.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: center;">You can see gift box samples here, many selections to choose from.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm10.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2710" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm10.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: left;">We walked through a little hallway to another sampling area and the store with several refrigerated cheese cases. We bought some extra sharp cheddar. And the boys all seemed to think we needed the Bacon Cheddar, so we got some of that too. (Bacon on the brain: morning, noon and night.)</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm7.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2708" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm7.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: center;">They were also very interested in Maple Syrup &#8220;Nips.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farms9.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2719" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farms9.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: center;">There was an abundance of maple syrup choices!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm6.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2707" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm6.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: center;">Also pure maple syrup Moose Pops.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm5.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2706" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm5.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: center;">And very cute VT cow pops too!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm12.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2712" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm12.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: left;">There was more sampling!  The boys all liked the habenero peppers maple syrup. I&#8217;m still partial to vanilla bean maple syrup myself. (Check out my <a title="Vanilla Bean Maple Syrup" href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/vanilla-bean-maple-syrup/">DIY Vanilla Bean Maple Syrup</a> here.)</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm20.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2733" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm20.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: center;">And more sampling: jams, jellies and specialty sauces.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm21.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2734" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm21.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: center;">This sauce was excellent. Imagine a rack of Maple Barbeque ribs!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm8.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2709" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm8.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: left;">I&#8217;d never seen a pure maple sugar brick before. For coffee or tea? (How &#8217;bout just knaw the brick.)</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm1.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2704" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm1.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: left;">It was finally time to head for the hills and home. We spied this little Maple Walk entrance to a Farm Chapel on our way out.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farms2.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2717" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farms2.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: left;">The picturesque white Farm Chapel was nearly hidden in a small clearing in the woods.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm13.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2713" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Sugarbush-Farm13.jpg" alt="Sugarbush Farm, Woodstock VT. <p style="text-align: left;">What a great visit to <em><strong>Sugarbush Farm</strong></em> in Woodstock. Our view on the way out. The whole experience was a good one, made so by the friendly, welcoming employees and sampling of the wonderful products. We&#8217;ll be sure  to visit again. (And soon.) Check out the  <a title="Sugarbush Farm" href="http://www.sugarbushfarm.com"><strong><em>Sugarbush Farm</em></strong></a> website.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">We stopped at beautiful <em>Quechee Gorge</em> on our way home.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Thanks for coming along on the field trip and hope you&#8217;ll have opportunity to visit Vermont and <em><strong>Sugarbush Farm</strong></em> one day. Have a great weekend!</p>

<p>So last summer my boys and I stumble-tripped our way along windy Route 15 towards Cabot, VT. We were coming from my aunt and uncle’s lake cottage in lovely West Danville, VT. It was a cloudy day, but the scenery and mountain vistas were still breathtakingly beautiful.</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery1.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-883" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery1.jpg" alt="Cabot Creamery in Cabot, Vermont is a lovely little (cheddar) slice of rural New England." width="680" height="412" srcset="https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery1.jpg 680w, https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery1-300x181.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">We passed the most photographed scenic valley in Vermont on our left. It&#8217;s directly across the road from Al May’s house.</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery12.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-894 size-medium" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery12-244x300.jpg" alt="Cabot Creamery in Cabot, Vermont is a lovely little (cheddar) slice of rural New England." width="244" height="300" srcset="https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery12-244x300.jpg 244w, https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery12.jpg 680w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 244px) 100vw, 244px" /></a></p>
<p>Who is Al May? Why he was the wonderful Man with the Derby Hat, an auctioneer in Cabot for nearly fifty years. Talk about a character! The stories he could tell.</p>
<p>I’ll have to fill you in more another day. Sadly he&#8217;s no longer with us, but he&#8217;s pictured above with his dear wife Velma. Jon and I visited Mr. May and his barn when we honeymooned in VT in the summer of ’93. I use the term <em>visit </em>loosely.</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery10.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-892" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery10.jpg" alt="Cabot Creamery in Cabot, Vermont is a lovely little (cheddar) slice of rural New England." width="680" height="462" srcset="https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery10.jpg 680w, https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery10-300x203.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p>We picked through the floor-to-ceiling pile of for-sale antiques (and random junk!) in the ramshackle barn overflowing with leftover treasures from his auctioneer days. But that’s a story for another day. (I will say, I’m so glad we had our &#8217;84 pick-up truck along!) We continued east on VT 215, rounded a few more bends and landed in Cabot.</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery2.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-884" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery2.jpg" alt="Cabot Creamery in Cabot, Vermont is a lovely little (cheddar) slice of rural New England." width="680" height="510" srcset="https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery2.jpg 680w, https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery2-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">  Just one more left turn and we arrived at <em><strong>Cabot Creamery</strong></em>.</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery3.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-885" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery3.jpg" alt="Cabot Creamery in Cabot, Vermont is a lovely little (cheddar) slice of rural New England." width="680" height="457" srcset="https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery3.jpg 680w, https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery3-300x201.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">We saw this in the parking lot. (Vermonters take their snow-mobiling very seriously.)</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery9.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-891" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery9.jpg" alt="Cabot Creamery in Cabot, Vermont is a lovely little (cheddar) slice of rural New England." width="680" height="759" srcset="https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery9.jpg 680w, https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery9-268x300.jpg 268w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">We  toured the Creamery. It was big, impressive. (And we obediently kept our paws off the windows.)</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery7.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-889" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery7.jpg" alt="Cabot Creamery in Cabot, Vermont is a lovely little (cheddar) slice of rural New England." width="680" height="855" srcset="https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery7.jpg 680w, https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery7-238x300.jpg 238w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p>We were amazed by the ingenuity and foresight of the  dairy farmers who banded together back in 1919 as a Cooperative Creamery to ensure the survival of their dairy community. (It worked! And how.)</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery8.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-890" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery8.jpg" alt="Cabot Creamery in Cabot, Vermont is a lovely little (cheddar) slice of rural New England." width="680" height="505" srcset="https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery8.jpg 680w, https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery8-300x222.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p>There are  so many wonderful dairy products in the Cabot Creamery store. Our favorite is the Artisan Cheddar Cheese, packaged in red wax. (Not  pictured here.) We sampled. And sampled. (And sampled some more!)</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery6.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-888" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery6.jpg" alt="Cabot Creamery in Cabot, Vermont is a lovely little (cheddar) slice of rural New England." width="680" height="720" srcset="https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery6.jpg 680w, https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery6-283x300.jpg 283w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p>And then it was time for dessert. Have you ever had one of these incredible Butternut Mountain Farm Maple Leaf Cookies? <em>They are absolutely amazing</em>. Even more so with a hot cup o&#8217; joe. If you love maple syrup, these are the cookies for you.</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery5.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-887" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery5.jpg" alt="Cabot Creamery in Cabot, Vermont is a lovely little (cheddar) slice of rural New England." width="680" height="672" srcset="https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery5.jpg 680w, https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery5-300x296.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">And if you&#8217;ve been searching high and low for a pair of men&#8217;s hot pink moo-moo boxers, you can find them here! (None of my boys seemed interested.)</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery11.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-893" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery11.jpg" alt="Cabot Creamery in Cabot, Vermont is a lovely little (cheddar) slice of rural New England." width="680" height="625" srcset="https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery11.jpg 680w, https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery11-300x275.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">They also have a wonderful selection of organic honey products. Mmmmm.</p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery4.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-886" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery4.jpg" alt="Cabot Creamery in Cabot, Vermont is a lovely little (cheddar) slice of rural New England." width="680" height="777" srcset="https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery4.jpg 680w, https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery4-262x300.jpg 262w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p>Bar none, my favorite product in the store was the Vermont Maple Syrup with Vanilla Bean from Butternut Mountain Farm.  I took one taste, shut my eyes, opened them again. My feet were still firmly planted on earth. The essence of vanilla beans combined with maple syrup is heavenly. I loved it so much that I came home and researched bottling some myself. I&#8217;m very excited to share that simple recipe with you very soon. (Hint: it would make a great Christmas gift.)</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">We had such a wonderful visit to the <strong><em>Cabot Creamery</em></strong>. I hope you get to visit someday.  <a href="http://www.cabotcheese.coop">http://www.cabotcheese.coop</a></p>
<p><a href="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery13.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-895" src="http://throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery13.jpg" alt="Cabot Creamery in Cabot, Vermont is a lovely little (cheddar) slice of rural New England." width="680" height="537" srcset="https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery13.jpg 680w, https://www.throughherlookingglass.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Cabot-Creamery13-300x236.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">As a bonus, we found this cute little furry guy in the parking lot on our way out!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Do you have a wonderful Vermont memory? Please share in the comment section today! (Especially if you saw a moose!)</p>
