You listed salt and baking powder but in the instructions you never mentioned when to add them. I caught it it when I was mixing the flour into the sugar but I only remembered the baking powder and forgot the salt. Soooo, I am sitting here hoping my cake turns out without the teaspoon of salt in it.

Allie I feel I can smell this cake RIGHT NOW! Oooh I so wish I lived a hop skip and a jump from you cos as soon as I read this post and got to the part where you were wondering who to share this with, I’d be on your doorstep with a pitcher of lemonade and mint ready to go! This is such a fantastic loaf! What a fabulous way to celebrate thawing out, daffodils breaking through (they are dying over here as we have been in the 80s!!!), the kitchen reno and (hopefully) being illness free! I must say, I had no idea that lemon juice affected the rise – I only use a smidge of lemon juice and more lemon zest when I do make something lemony but next time I’ll be using lemon extract instead as I’m loving the texture of this loaf! Happy Thursday, my friend – the weekend is almost here and I hope it embraces y’all with warmer temps! XOXO

Thank you so much Kathy – hope you like this cake. I spread it all over town yesterday because I wanted it OUT OF THE HOUSE!!! Too tempting. Just one more sliver…..eek! BTW, the kitchen is all finished!!! I posted about if a few weeks ago, so check it out when you can. Such a dreamy cake! I love pound cake to begin with, but with lemon and blueberries, wow!

Right now, my kitchen is stripped to the bare bones—no ceiling, spray painted lines on the floor where the cabinets and appliances go. I’m looking forward to baking my first cake in my new oven….weeks or months from now!! xo
