Thank you for the beautifully written reminder, Allie. You're speaking my language as a mental health nurse:). This is one of my soapboxes and yet I have difficulty following this advice:/! It is so important to our overall health to rest. We are wholly effected more than we realize by stress: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. If we do not take time to rest regularly, eventually our bodies will demand rest. God has told us to regularly rest since Creation! I know I need to develop the habit of being quiet so I can hear His "still, small voice". Thank you, Allie!

Thanks, Allie, for reminding me that Barnes and Noble is, indeed, a great retreat space. Even though it is usually pretty quiet around my house, staying here to write or to read is not a retreat space, for the condo keeps screaming, "Dust me, finish the laundry, freshen the bathrooms, and vacuum the floors!" A table at Barnes and Noble and a good cup of coffee is therapeutic and inspirational. Looking forward to staking out my space tomorrow.

Thanks, Yvette, for reminding me of one of my favorite reads!! Went back to it just to enjoy some favorite quotes. Here's one... "What matters is that one, for a time, be inwardly attentive. [We] must be the pioneer in this turning inward for strength....and from looking inward [we] gain this inner strength which [those] in an outward active life did not as often find." Ann Morrow Lindbergh

Yeah, it's a balance isn't it? I usually write at my kitchen counter. "Gifts from the Sea"...YES! :)
